The Circumnavigation. A Trimaran for Two. Part 1

Russian travelers set sail on a journey from Finland to Brazil

Professional traveler and social activist Evgeny Kovalevsky, along with Stanislav Beryozkin, the champion of Russian sailing tourism, embark on a three-year circumnavigation. Their voyage follows the route of Kruzenshtern, a 19th-century Russian navigator who led the first Russian circumnavigation. With just two travelers on board, they alternate watch duty every three hours. Unlike typical expeditions where the crew relies on autopilot for rest, the vessel they sail on is experimental. Stanislav built the trimaran himself and admits to numerous mistakes in design and durability. "This is a challenge—a tough challenge, an extreme challenge," acknowledges the traveler. Yet, the team is determined to embark on this journey.
