Finding the Fallen

75 years after WWII, soldiers’ remains are still being recovered all over Europe

Seventy-five years after the end of WWII, volunteer enthusiasts continue to look for the bodies of thousands of soldiers who went missing in action. The remains of Soviet and German soldiers recovered from battlefields, woods and swamps are, when possible, identified and buried with military honours. After decades of waiting, families finally learn the fate of their loved ones and have a grave to visit, thanks to those who believe that “No one’s forgotten. Nothing’s forgotten”.
