Family Matters

Child welfare system in Russia. Families are taking a blow.

The legal system in Russia is poorly equipped to handle child welfare cases. Sometimes child services' decisions aren't made with children's best interests at heart. A documentary by RTD's Natalia Karachkova tells stories of families where children are separated from their parents and had to fight to get them back. Why has this become widespread? Who profits from putting children in foster care at the drop of a hat? The answers might surprise you.
