O-High-O: the Road to Addiction, and Back
America's deadly drug epidemic according to recovering addicts
In Akron, Ohio - population 200,000 - America's drug epidemic is devastating lives. The struggling town has lost hundreds to opioids, meth or prescription drugs since 2015.
RTD visits the Emma Recovery Residence of the Packard Institute, where addicts try to turn their lives around. Residents come from broken families or loving homes, but they all talk of the inner wounds they try to forget through addiction. Although recovery is the goal, today's drugs are so potent they know many won't make it.
