White Sea: Above and below the ice
Above the icy surface of the White Sea, one can often hear squeals and cracking sounds produced by beluga whales, the playful friendly souls living in these frosty waters. People come here from the farthest corners of the world for a chance to dip into the freezing opaque water and mingle with its magnificent milk-shaded creatures. But there is more to the White Sea than its fascinating underwater kingdom. The chilly breath of the Arctic Ocean, as well as the crispy ice of the sea's surface, attract adventurous devotees of kite-sledding. They may spend hours waiting for the wind, but once they catch it, they tighten their grip and give in to the thrill of a bold glacial ride.
