A bridge over trouble in RTD’s Black Sea documentaries

The Black Sea coast is Russia’s answer to the Riviera. The main city, Sochi, is a holiday hotspot all year round, and that’s why it was chosen to host the 2014 Winter Olympics. RTD’s Black Sea documentaries chart the story of turning the city into an Olympic venue. When the Crimea region of Ukraine decided to secede and become part of Russia, there was no direct link between the two. Building a bridge across the Kerch Strait became a national priority, and is now a great 21st-century engineering marvel.
