RTD’s genocide documentaries examine the causes and aftermath of killing millions

Genocide is the systematic eradication of an ethnic group. Racial, religious and tribal differences are enough to trigger the horrors of mass murder. Twenty-five years ago, it happened in Rwanda. The killing eventually stopped, and it was left to the female majority to pick up the pieces and rebuild the country. More recently, the Muslim minority in Myanmar known as Rohingya was subject to what the UN called ethnic cleansing. The survivors who escaped to Bangladesh tell their horrifying stories in the film Rohingya: Unpeopled.
