The mysteries of the frozen Yamal Peninsula revealed in RTD’s Nenets documentaries

The Yamal Peninsula in northern Siberia is home to the Nenets people. How they’re adapting their nomadic lifestyle to the 21st century is examined in the film Children of the Tundra. Traditionally they’ve crossed the tundra tending reindeer, but that’s dying out. The sudden appearance of giant sinkholes in the tundra is a mystery. The shafts are very deep and baffling scientists. RTD documented one expedition trying to discover an explanation in the film the Permafrost Mystery.
