Ballet Boy from Brazil Bolshoi Theatre
26 August
A young black boy from the slums of Brazil has a dream of becoming a professional ballet dancer. Luis Fernando challenges the stereotype of white, blue-eyed dancers. Coming from a poor neighbourhood in Rio de Janeiro, he shunned the temptations of crime and drugs and embarked on a career in dance. With the teacher’s help he’s enrolled at the Bolshoi Ballet School in Brazil, and hopes of making it to the stage of the famous theatre in Moscow.
