Everest: The Mountain of Death
24 March
As the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest on the border between Nepal and China has become a ‘bucket list’ attraction for hundreds of climbers. So much so that, during the climbing season, there are queues to reach its summit. With so many wanting to make the ascent, the risks have increased exponentially. The number of climbers dying on the mountain is rising. One week in 2019 saw 11 tourists perish, the worst on record.
