Notes from Donbass

War reporter gathers soldiers' stories whilst delivering aid to Donbass

This documentary is a collection of stories gathered by a war correspondent who is dispatching humanitarian aid to the hottest spots in Donbass, while simultaneously jotting down thoughts and dreams of the fighters, as well as civilians he meets on the way. Among them is a soldier with codename Tuman, who had finally reunited with his mother after 8 long years, following the liberation of the city of Svetlodarsk by the Russian Armed Forces. Each soldier understands why they have to continue their fight, even if it involves enduring parting with their loved ones – for the sake of thousands of civilians and the very existence of the people of Donbass. "Right now, Donetsk is being wiped off the face of the Earth. They don't care about what they shoot at: a kindergarten, a school, or a hospital," says the squad's commander, Hans. Find out more about the frontline reality in the new documentary-diary.
