Big Monsanto Payout Over Cancer Threat

25 July

Monsanto, one of the world’s biggest chemical companies, has been ordered to pay an elderly California couple $2 billion in damages over mislabelling its weed killer, Roundup. The couple contracted cancer after more than 30 years of using the product on their property. The successful suit claimed Monsanto failed to provide warnings on the packaging about Roundup’s carcinogenic properties. Eleven thousand other cases are pending.
