Juvenile offenders get new lease on life through art, theater and sports
Only a few residents of Saint Basil rehabilitation centre regard their stay here as a chance to improve their life choices and to start building a better future for themselves. For most juvenile offenders, the centre is just a better alternative to prison. Even though they may be threatened with jail terms, many still oppose the discipline and work essential to the rehabilitation process. Nevertheless, the centre’s instructors keep their faith in these young people and their ability to change for the better, and so invest their own time and money in this endangered charity project.
