Argentinian soloist finds new audience in St. Petersburg
Carlos D’Onofrio, an Argentinian classical singer, met his Russian wife Ekaterina in Buenos Aires. They both performed at the Teatro Colon, he as a soloist and she as a pianist.
When she had to return to Russia, Carlos followed his heart all the way and relocated there too; not only did he have a blissful marriage but was also able to take advantage of the great opportunities that Saint Petersburg provided. The singer who performs in seven languages, now works for the renowned Mariinsky Theater.
He is delighted to be sharing the Russian culture around the world but still stays connected to his Argentine roots through tango dancing. Watch him blend both cultures over the past fourteen years in this No Limits episode.
