Automated CPR breakthrough

3 September

The makers claim a new machine to automate CPR could save 20% more lives than the conventional manual method. Paramedics are trying out the device which can be attached to a patient and pump the heart for a lot longer. The problem has always been that medical staff performing CPR have to take turns as the action is very tiring. The machine takes away the strain of CPR and allows paramedics to concentrate on other life-saving procedures.
