Life in a refugee camp for Boko Haram victims
RTD visits a UN refugee camp on the shores of Lake Chad. Here, thousands of survivors of Boko Haram attacks are trying to get back to normal life. The belligerent jihadist group, whose name means “western education is forbidden”, orders its victims to join its militant organisation or die. It has become responsible for the murders of thousands of civilians. Those who managed to escape, and are currently living in Dar Es Salam camp, tell harrowing stories of their ordeals.
