Rearguard Girls
Russian women reshaping their businesses to provide frontline aid
"There are women who are incredibly resilient, morally speaking. And it's often these very women who join volunteer movements and started to help out. So, they don’t only deal with their own pain, but also assist others in coping with theirs," says Daria, a volunteer. Daria works together with Susanna Anikitina, founder of the medical centre network "Sovermed". These centres unite the efforts of hundreds of caring women all over Russia. They provide free medical treatment for the soldiers who fight in Donbass, and look after the families they left behind. These women invest millions as well as products of their craft, and assist in packing and distributing aid to the front lines. Discover more about these brave women on the International Women's Day.
