Battleground Syria & Voice Lessons – News Team Ep.10
In this episode, Maria Finoshina travels to the rebel-controlled Palestinian refugee camp inside Damascus where thousands of civilians are held hostage. With a severe lack of food and water supply these people have only humanitarian aid to rely on. Maria visits the place to get the first-hand account of the current situation there. She witnesses the first distribution of humanitarian aid in the camp in seven months, while observing the large number of buildings that were destroyed by bombs and talks to the civilians held hostage there. She also interviews Palestine’s ambassador to Syria to find out the prospects of the negotiations being held with the militants in control of the camp. Meanwhile, Maggie Howell is back at RT’s headquarters in Moscow, trying to perfect her news presenting style. She meets up with George Watts, an experienced radio announcer, who gives her a lesson on voice techniques and artistic expression.
