Earthship homes: future of the post-coronavirus world?
The coronavirus pandemic is going to spur interest in off-grid lifestyle and Earthship homes, says Phil Basehart, resident of the eco-friendly ‘Greater World Community’ in New Mexico.Given a “sentiment that this is not the last pandemic”, Basehart says his Earthship community could set “a good example” of being less dependent on the state. Homes built entirely from waste produce their own energy, have own sewage and collect water. Basehart told us how life has changed in the Earthship community since the outbreak, if they were offered any money in small business aid and whether authorities will support initiatives like their eco-friendly communes in the post-Covid 19 world.
