Watching Hollywood movies reveling in clichés and featuring evil, barbaric Russians, it’s hard to believe American wartime cinema painting the USSR and its people in a favorable light. The Cold War put Hollywood on the anti-Soviet trail and is one example of how the industry serves America’s political interests by infusing its movies with ideology and propaganda.
