Let the show begin! - A Clown's Life Ep.1
Aleksey Emelin, the star clown of the Yury Nukilin Circus, is leaving for a nine-month tour of Japan. Luckily, the circus has managed to secure the services of the equally talented Vladimir Deryabkin, who will take Aleksey’s place while he’s gone. The season’s opening performance is today, and everyone has first-night nerves, as there are always last-minute changes. The circus director, Maxim Nikulin, explains how the show must have something for everyone: clowns and animals for the kids, beautiful women for the dads to look at, and gorgeous costumes to interest the mums. Vladimir explains his approach to clowning, stressing that audience participation and working in sync with the orchestra are key. Though the first performance doesn’t go off without a hitch, everyone agrees it was a good beginning.
