What kind of person joins a travelling circus? - A Clown's Life Ep. 2
Star clown Vladimir Deryabkin describes how he feels like a prima ballerina working in the country’s top circus, where all the great Russian and Soviet acts performed, including Engibarov, Yury Nikulin, Karandash. However, Vladimir also has his own circus called ‘Stars of the Ring’ that travels around Russia performing in smaller towns. Today his circus is getting ready to move, but Deryabkin can’t be there to help. Luckily, everything is in the safe and competent hands of his trusted friend and technical director Sergey, who clearly has everything under control. Vishnev describes the challenges involved in managing a travelling circus, including finding reliable personnel. As the circus is disassembled, we get to meet some of these interesting characters, including magician Vladimir Sazonov, Brazilian acrobat Mario Ceballos, and newcomer Nikolay, who is looking to forget a bad divorce.
