After 12 days aboard the Rossiya train, tempers begin to fray among the staff. Conductor Lyudmila becomes anxious, wondering if her suitor from the earlier Moscow-Vladivostok run will return as promised. And he does… with his girlfriend. Then, the train’s two-way radio breaks down just as it enters the most remote leg of its trip. When service is restored, news comes of a tragic train accident that the crew missed by just a few hours, prompting the conductors to think of their loved ones back at home.
