Butterfly People
Epidermolysis bullosa - a genetic disease that makes people's skin extremely fragile
“Butterfly people” suffer from a congenital disease that makes their skin very delicate and easily damaged. In this film those with the disease explain how they learnt to live with this condition and what plans they have for the future. Viktoria’s dream is to learn to drive, despite having lost her fingers to the disease. She travels to a hospital abroad to have reconstructive surgery on her hands with the aim of making her dream come true. Her friend, Anastasia, has the same disorder and is confident Viktoria will succeed. She herself drives, is married, and contemplates having a child.
