Interview with my mother
A disarmingly honest conversation about aging and life lessons
RTD writer and director Alyona Simikina has travelled the world to film captivating documentaries. This story though was found much closer to home; in fact it couldn’t be closer. Inspired by a beauty contest for women over 50, she decided to document her own mother’s life. In a disarmingly honest series of interviews, one “older woman” discusses coming to terms with aging, what makes her happy, past regrets and what she looks forward to. Through one mother’s personal story, the film explores how life changes for “women of a certain age”.
