Living dead railroad

Russia's transpolar mainline Salekhard-Igarka became a monument to an inhumane government policy and it is better known as stroika 501, or the Dead railroad. The thousands of dead bodies buried beneath its tracks are not foreign prisoners of war, but the sons and daughters of the Stalinist regime. Sent to the GULAG for minor offenses many found icy graves, just two years after the World War Two. Learn about Stalin's war on his own people.
