Voodoo: a cruel cult or a cultural identity?
What most people know about Voodoo probably comes from Hollywood films. Movies paint the ancient Haitian belief as a terrifying cult obsessed with revenge and death. RT correspondent Francisco Guaita decided to get to the bottom of things. He visited the country to discover the role voodoo plays in modern Haitian society. He attended voodoo ceremonies, talked to priests and worshippers learning how the religion of the oppressed has grown into a national doctrine and is still a source of controversy.
