The Assange Story
WikiLeaks founder’s journey from whistleblowing hero to exile
Some see Julian Assange as a free-press champion, others consider him a dangerous maverick. The WikiLeaks founder has been in the spotlight for a decade, most of it holed up inside London’s Ecuadorian Embassy. Held in the UK’s Belmarsh Prison, Assange is set to fight extradition across the Atlantic. US authorities want Assange for allegedly spying and conspiring to hack government computers. If convicted, he could face 175 years behind bars.
RTD’s Konstantin Rozhkov travels around the world to talk to Assange’s father, his friends, lawyers and people he’s worked with, for a personal portrait of Julian and a valuable insight into his activities.
