Russian vlogger raking it in putting daily farm life online
Anton Khoroshev is a farmer who doesn't just cultivate crops, but followers too! He documents his daily life for a worldwide audience. He and his wife, Alevtina always have a camera rolling to create content for their video blog. Topic ideas come from viewers who ask questions about farm life. In their videos, they discuss everything from potatoes to milking cows. They have now passed the 150,000 subscribers mark and make about $1,000 a month.
When Anton and Alevtina started their blog, they lived in a tiny Russian settlement that doesn't even have a name. Their goal was to raise enough money to buy a farmhouse of their own for their two kids and livestock.
Keeping an ongoing video blog going proved quite a challenge; it means constant filming and video editing on top of their daily chores. They also stay up late to monitor comments on their videos and answer questions from subscribers. RTD visited the hopeful farmer-bloggers for a behind-the-scenes look at how they cope with it all.
