Raft to Freedom

US man lives on a raft to defend the rights of the homeless

Steve can track his family tree back to the first settlers. He believes in America’s original values including everyone’s right to pursue happiness. He used to be minister of “Tent City” for the homeless, before it was torn down by the authorities.

Now - joined on his mission by RTD's Aleksey Brazhnikov - he sets sail on a raft to raise awareness about the issue of homelessness. Aleksey interviews Minister Steve and other homeless people about the circumstances that brought them to this point in life. He finds out about the legal and social problems the homeless in America face, and learns what they themselves think may be the solutions.
