Calling Mars home - The Future is Now Episode 6. Preparations for deep space exploration are underway
Sending a mission to Mars is not just an ambition that earthlings have been cherishing since the start of the space era, but a goal that many international teams are currently working towards. It involves addressing a great number of challenges, from building innovative spacecraft and thermonuclear fusion engines, to figuring out how to survive in harsh radiation, and source food and water. The USA has resolved to send the first manned spaceflight to Mars before 2030, while Russia and China decided to start by exploring and colonizing the moon within the next 5 years, before venturing all across the solar system.
