Aleksandr, Sergey and Boris are prison inmates, but they refuse to succumb to the boredom of jail. They found their true passion behind a barbed wire fence: TV reporting. The three friends work for IK-2 TV, a cable channel, broadcasting to inmates from inside the prison. While interviewing other convicts and working in different parts of the prison, they discover a lot of new and exciting things about the place, and the people living there and their own hidden talents.
The prison TV team tests their new camera, filming at a prison workshop where they make barbed wire for detention centres. Although Boris and Sergey enjoy shooting on the new device, they later realise a computer they use for editing is too old for the high definition format.
Another inmate and IK-2 presenter Mikhail shows how the prison shop works and what convicts can buy. The team also visits the section for detainees with special needs, who have no access to the IK-2 broadcast, but get to see the reports on DVD.
