The battle for blood, faith, and honour in RTD’s Caucasus documentaries

Both a physical and mental barrier, the Caucasus Mountains on Russia’s southern flank have seen their fair share of turmoil over the centuries. The republics that make up the region have been fighting an ongoing insurgency with Muslim fundamentalists wanting to establish an Islamic caliphate. Many of the Caucasus documentaries examine the conflict and its effects on people across the region. Despite this life goes on, and the age-old traditions of this conservative region are upheld to this day.
