7 must-watch global warming documentaries show the human and animal cost of rising temperatures
RTD’s global warming documentaries take a closer look at the impact of the increasing average temperatures around the world on vulnerable populations and ecosystems. Our films highlight the plight of the citizens of Basra, Iraq and of India’s rural Punjab who are faced with severe water shortages triggered by global warming.

When filming in the Arctic, RTD crews regularly encounter polar bears. The animals are now being driven south by the melting of their natural habitat, the Arctic Ocean ice cap.
RTD’s global warming documentaries also record how melting ice in the Arctic Ocean is threatening the habitat of Russia’s polar bears, and small increases in ocean temperatures are killing coral reefs in Thailand. Meanwhile, in Yamal, in Russia’s far north, scientists are linking the mysterious appearance of huge sinkholes to global warming.
