Sklif (Ep21) A fun day out in childhood leads to a life-long debilitating condition
At the age of nine, Vasily fell ill while enjoying himself on an icy slide in the cold Russian winter. It turned out that hypothermia had done more damage to his health than was initially thought. Vasily developed chronic pyelonephritis, a kidney disease that deteriorated over the years.
Finally, he found himself in need of dialysis. His life depends on regular procedures that take up a lot of his time. A kidney transplant has now become inevitable. The only question is whether to put it off until later or bite the bullet and undergo the operation.
