No Way Back: Heat

Climate change’s effects and workable solutions

On Earth, climate change means the heat is on. Global temperatures are rising. In Yemen, farmers are losing their livelihoods because there’s no more water. This helps explain the current war there. In Norway, the permafrost is thawing. School children are going on strike to demand change.

In Yemen, climate change has reduced the water supply, threatening the lives of farmers and their animals.

RTD talks to Yemeni farmers, economists and scientists studying climate change about the effects of global warming. Some despair of reducing carbon emissions to limit temperature rises, but there may be better ways to handle the crisis.
