“Our cameraman started calling home and say goodbye in case we got shot”: an RT Documentary crew miraculously escaped a terrorist attack

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of RT Documentary our correspondents tell amazing stories about the risks they take to do the job. A troubling incident happened to Marina Kosareva, when her crew was filming a documentary about female deminers.
"One of the most memorable trips was the one to Western Sahara. Getting there was a challenge in itself because at first, we had to wait six days instead of three on the border to get permission," Marina recalls. "We arrived on the first day of Ramadan, and not only did our translator not show up, but there was barely anyone there for days."
But that was only the beginning. Watch the video to learn the whole story.
Marina Kosareva's work has taken her to some of the world's hotspots covering the Ukrainian crisis, anti-government protests in Greece, and less dramatic but equally important events such as Scotland's independence referendum. She has interviewed several political and business heavyweights such as Pakistan's opposition leader and former international sportsman, Imran Khan, President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte, Virgin founder Richard Branson, Coca Cola's CEO Muhtar Kent.
